Demeter is the goddess of harvest,she is cronus secound eldest daughterand the mother of Persephone.
Mythology[]
In Greek mythology Demeter (English pronunciation: /dəˈmiːtər/; də'-MEE-tər; Greek: Δημήτηρ, Dēmētēr, probably "earth-mother")[1][2] was the goddess of the harvest, who presided over grains, the fertility of the earth, the seasons (personified by the Hours), and the harvest. Though Demeter is often described simply as the goddess of the harvest, she presided also over the sanctity of marriage, the sacred law, and the cycle of life and death. She and her daughter Persephone were the central figures of the Eleusinian Mysteries that also predated the Olympian pantheon.
In the Series[]
Demeter becomes upset when Persephone fails to return from the Underworld, having been frozen in Hades' Chair of Forgetfulness. In her sorrow, she allows the world to become barren and freeze over. When Neil and Atlanta arrive at her farm, Demeter has taken the form of a cow; they charm her enough to ease the global winter she has left the world in, but does willingly lend them her chariot (pulled by two ferocious large cats) to go to the Underworld and help the others save Persephone. When Persephone returns to the living world, Demeter has restored the natural order and mother and daughter are happily reunited
Personality and Physical Appearance[]
- Demeter is depicted as Emotional , but loving especially torward her daughter Persephone who she very attached to . so attached that she would put the world through torture when she thinks her daughter is in danger .
- Demeter is depicted as a kind looking women with a slender built , she has blond hair and wears a whie dress/toga with orange trims .
